Do you remember Joanie and John’s coastal Connecticut engagement session? I also had the pleasure of photographing their Candlewood Inn wedding this summer on the beautiful Candlewood Lake in Brookfield, Connecticut!
If you’ve followed along, you know that I adore this couple and had been counting down the days until their wedding and another opportunity to photograph their love story. The way they look at each other is the way they love each other. It is so genuine and full of joy!
They shared with me their vision for the evening and it was clear that their dreamy, floral details would blend effortlessly with the laid back aesthetic of the Candlewood Inn. When asked about what was important to them, they said they wanted their wedding to be classic and elegant, but with lots of fun and laughing and dancing.
Let me tell you… it was everything they had dreamed of! From the tearful first look with Joanie’s dad, to the hysterically funny toasts, to the band’s rendition of “Shallow” that had everyone singing along and allowed for the bride and groom to have a SECOND first dance, to the incredible sunset which had everyone running out of the venue to take in the view, to meeting my favorite guest, John’s 97-year-old grandmother who introduced herself as his roommate (the sweetest!), it couldn’t have been a more perfect day for these two. What an honor to photograph their wedding day, it was one I’ll never forget!
